After some login difficulties, I’m finally able to post! This past week I was very involved organizing the Illest of Illustration event on the Ringling College campus. Along with a group of peers, we set up the gallery show and hosted demo’s and talks by the guest judges Rebecca Mock and Victo Ngai. It was great to meet and hang out with them both, and they left the student body with some inspirational advice. Two of my pieces got into the show and overall the opening night of the show was a great success!
Additionally, I’ve been working on some illustrations in class. We were assigned another independent project, and I was in the mood to reminisce about my home country, The Netherlands. This map of Amsterdam shows some of the most well-known tourist landmarks, as well as some patterns containing typically Dutch elements. Now all I want to do is sit by the water and eat hagelslag sandwiches.
