Magdalena Szymaniec was born in Poland and the first thing she consciously drew was a horse (she’s not particularly ashamed of it). She studied at United World Collage Red Cross Nordic in Norway where she made a decision to complicate her life and become an illustrator. She’s currently a senior at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, where she drinks tea, plays the ukulele (badly), pretends to be a librarian and observes stray cats.
Her main inspirations are mythology, personal and cultural symbolism, philosophy, books and cats. She holds a belief that human face is a complete universe.
