Brenna Thummler grew up in northwest Pennsylvania where she spent her childhood creating picture books and drawing herself as a mermaid. After attending a vocational art program during high school, she realized these early creative endeavors could transform into a career path. Today she calls herself a well-practiced “people-watcher” and is captivated by an endless range of behaviors, personalities, and appearances – a diversity of stories. She is fascinated by detail and uses drawing as a means to connect with those around her, creating visuals that audiences can appreciate or even relate to. Brenna, an illustration major at Ringling College of Art and Design, will graduate with a BFA in May of 2015. She aspires to one day write and illustrate her own children’s books.
